We're off to a great start for second semester, halfway through the year. Some students are continuing with integrated courses and some are beginning new ones. I know I am hoping it stops snowing soon. It's getting really hard to see out the window over the snowbank.

Exciting news today, our new dishwasher was installed. Can't wait to try it out!!!

It's exam time at Banting and we are ready. Several of our students will be writing exams and the rest of is will be working just as hard as we always do. Don't forget Friday is a pd day.

We went to a very moving assembly today.  Michel Chikwanine spoke to us about his childhood and his experience as a child soldiers.  You can read more about him here: http://www.speakers.ca/speakers/michel-chikwanine/

We are all very happy to be back at school!!  When we came back we saw the floor was all clean and shiny.  It looks like a new classroom!
We had lots of fun on the break.  Aidan got new books and a new laptop and new games and new animals.  Aaron has a hockey necklace and he got a guitar.  He also did some snow shovelling.  Caitlyn went snow tubing with Susan and Calvin and she got a big laptop too.  She also helped with some shovelling.  Mimi went to Grandma's house for Happy New Year.  David was excited because he got a 40 inch flat screen tv.  Whitney had a good visit with her dad in Winnipeg too.  Lots of people got to open presents.
We are starting to read a new book in Language Class.  It is called Charlotte's Web.  It is about a pig named Wilbur and a girl named Fern. They live on a farm.  When we are done reading, we will watch the movie.  Have you ever read this book before?  Have you seen the movie?

We had a good long weekend because of the PD day.  Lots of people had exciting adventures.
Caitlyn went to the Toronto Santa Claus Parade.  She got to ride down on the GO Train.  Aidan went to the movie with his sister to see Breaking Dawn Pt. 2.  His sister cried.  David went to his cousin's house and he got to see the new Spiderman movie.  Tyler just came back from Florida.  He got to go to Disney world and he saw Mickey and Buzz and lots of other characters.  We saw pictures of Whitney in a wheelbarrow.  She was raking leaves and helping her dad. 
We are having Breakfast for Lunch for Hot Lunch this week.  We are going shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart today to get the groceries. 

There is no school on Friday.  It's a PD day.
We are having chicken fingers and scalloped potatoes and cookies for hot lunch.
We are going to watch a movie tomorrow.
We played soccer in language class today.  We are almost done the book The Witches.  We will watch the movie when we are done reading.

We enjoyed the Fashion Show.  Whitney and Aidan were zombies and they danced to Thriller.  We also LOVED watching the guy who dressed up and danced Gangnam Style.  Mrs. Wagner's favourite part of Halloween was seeing Chris Tutty transformed into Christina for the day.  You can see him/her in the picture to the left.  Brandon T made coffee cupcakes in his cooking class.  He said there were GOOD.  For hot lunch we had pasta with turkey and vegetables and CHEESE.  We really liked it!!  We might eat some leftovers today.  We are also going to eat some leftover pizza when we watch our movie today.  We will have to work out extra hard in gym class.  Were you surprised to the see the SNOW today?  We were.  Thankfully no shovelling required!! 

We are very excited about the party tomorrow.  The Best Buddies have been invited and so have our friends and siblings at the school.  We are going to eat pizza, decorate cupcakes, limbo for donuts, go through a haunted house, do Hallowe'en crafts and DANCE!!!  We hope everyone will wear a costume.  Can't wait!!!
